Welcome to my website!
I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chair of Comparative Politics (Prof. Steffen Ganghof) at the University of Potsdam.
In April 2023, I will start my own research group as a research group leader at the Free University Berlin – thanks to an ERC Starting Grant for my project LOOPS on the logistics of popular uprisings in competitive authoritarian regimes.
My research is in comparative politics and I am particularly interested in issues of autocratic stability, protest, constitutionalism, minority rights as well as executive-legislative relations.
I previously held positions as Visiting Professor (Vertretung W3) in Comparative Politics at the Freie Universität Berlin and of German Politics at Humboldt University Berlin as well as Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin and at the University of Göttingen. I studied Political Science and History at the University of Passau and received my PhD for the thesis “Constitutions and Presidents. How Formal Rules Constrain and Empower” after my graduate studies at the Humboldt University Berlin. During my time as a graduate student, I held a research and teaching position at the Humboldt University Berlin, was a visiting PhD student at the University of Texas at Austin and worked as a researcher for the Comparative Constitutions Project.
